Happy 20th Birthday Garrett!

How do I already have a 20 year old???  Good Golly! Garrett has done so much growing up in the past 2 years.  He's always been naturally smart at school but not particularly the hardest-working student.  Signing up for 2 years at Rappahannock Community College to get his first 60 college credits was probably his smartest move ever!  He had some rough starts, a couple low grades, a couple failed classes, and some do-overs too.  But he kept at it, all while working full time at Sheetz and saving his money.  Between his dad, me, and Garrett, we were able to pay out of pocket for his 2 years at RCC, so Garrett transferred to VCU this summer only owing what he took out in loans for his junior year this year.
He's got a kick-ass room mate in Richmond (Chase) and is still working at Sheetz!  He's paying his own way with his rent, car, insurance, food, and cell phone and I couldn't be more proud!
Toddler Garrett!

Wave master!

Baby Garrett - his first birthday

And now a MAN stands before me!

Throwback to those awkward HS years....

Opening presents!  Every present was basically something he needed for his new apartment!

We did kind of a Baby Shark theme (you can tell a 7 and 9 year old helped me with the cake decorating)

So excited for pots and pans!!

Caroline's HS Graduation! May 16, 2020

These poor high school seniors!  They really got the crap thrown at them!  We staged some cap and gown pics in the backyard with Marianne (our photographer friend).  Then graduation as we know it was cancelled.  Caroline had the opportunity to sign up for a 15-minute slot where she was allowed to have 4 family members witness her walk down the stage to get her diploma (by herself, no other students allowed).  We did it because otherwise there was really no recognition of her accomplishments.  No graduation party either :(  I sent out hilarious announcements for her and people wrote her some very sweet and touching notes.  Caroline was accepted to VT and JMU and decided to attend VT!

To remember the great toilet paper shortage of 2020!

At least her friends could come cheer for her in the parking lot!
