Office Space

Sorry, no Milton with a red stapler here, just a frustrated home owner who needs a craft space pronto!  Our office has been getting some special treatment lately--as you can see above, Timmy has built a wall of lower cabinets (doors are still a work in progress) to run under the window.  We attached our 9 1/2 foot run of laminate counters (which we saved when we replaced our kitchen counters last summer).  You knew they looked familiar!  They were such nice laminate, and saved up about $200.
Our office needs to be functional for my crochet sales (just hit over 1,000 today!) so that I have a place to store items and yarn, wrap orders, store mailing supplies, etc.  But it also needs to be a place where we can tell the kids to go do homework.
As you can see above and below, I added two bars from IKEA and six plastic cups that hold art supplies.  Mine hold markers, scissors, colored pencils, sharpies, glue sticks/tape, and mechanical pencils.

Still waiting on those cabinet doors.....so you can't see my piles of copy paper....
Where you see those two brown strips on the upper left hand corner of the picture above is where my yarn storage cabinet is going (when it's finished....Tim is about 2/3s of the way through construction).  It's 3 feet wide, 4 feet long, and features a diamond grid pattern inside so that I can sort out all my yarn and see in glance what I have available.  That should relieve some storage space in the closet where I currently have 4 large rubbermaid totes full of yarn.

We're replacing the old ceiling tiles with new ones, and the outer edge ones are the last to get done since they require cutting.
Still a work in progress....such as long way to go....
The yarn storage cabinet that repeatcrafterme.com installed, which I totally copied was inspired by for my cabinet.  Mine will be very similar, but with less diamonds, if that makes sense.  Can't wait until it's finished and I can start loading it full of yarn!
