Emily's Holiday Musical Program

Emily's daycare was putting on a holiday musical program this afternoon, and I pretty much just noticed the flier this morning.  I asked the owner if the program pertained to the toddler room and she told me to ask the teacher (way to stay informed, Mrs. G).  Mrs. Christie, the teacher, said yes, that the kids were singing "Jingle Bells" and, well,  jingling bells, and that Emily was the best performer she had ever seen and was going to do a great job (little did Mrs. Christie know that up until three minutes earlier, I had no plans to be at a holiday musical program that day).  So change in plans!   Did I mention that Tim has school on Wednesday nights?  In that he goes to work at 5 am and comes home at 9 pm on Wednesdays.  So I was going to drag 4 kids to this "performance" so that we could sit on tiny blue plastic chairs and watch a program that was 1 minute Emily, 29 minutes "other kids that I don't know".  Oh, the things we do for our children....
And in an effort to not hurt anyone's feelings this "holiday", the two year old class dressed as dreidels and sang the "Dreidel, Dreidel" song (I kid you not; please reference the picture above).
Emily waiting to ring her bells.  They had all the kids sit on the floor.  You ever try to videotape a kid sitting on the floor?  It ain't pretty.
She did a great job and just looked so darn cute in the new Christmas outfit that Grandma bought for her.

Emily was great, singing her heart out and ringing those bells.  She was rewarded with hot cocoa (lukewarm) and a sugar cookie.  Sadly, one antler did not survive the festivities.
