Timmy drove down to the stone yard in Richmond to check out some slabs that we liked on line, and one of the first ones to catch his eye was Steel Gray, a.k.a. Silver Pearl. We got prices for 3 stones, and we liked the numbers attached to Steel Gray so we went with that one. I scheduled installation for after camp, and they were installed yesterday! It took over 5 hours to have them put in, but we also got new sinks (and made the main sink bigger) and added a bar to the top of the window opening. Now it's on to a new floor (water damage has warped the laminate in the kitchen) and a new backsplash, because as you can tell in the photos below, the green glass one was destroyed during installation.
Bye bye, old kitchen. |
These counter tops aren't going to waste. We saved the 11 1/2 foot run of counter top to make a built in desk in the office. We will be using 9 feet of the counter top to run from one of the room to the other with cabinets above and below.

This picture makes it look dark, but it has tons of gray tones and flecks of silver. |
I love you, new countertop! |
