I'm a Big Boy Now!

Jay doesn't seem to do anything gradually.  He didn't move forever, then BAM!  He was rolling clear across the house.  When he decided that he wanted to sleep through the night, he did.....for thirteen hours in a row.   So of course he would be the same way with solid foods.  We've been giving him some solid stuff for weeks now.  A little torn up waffle with his yogurt in the morning, some little pieces of chicken with dinner, the usual.  But about a week ago, right before the Labor Day weekend started, Jason decided that he wants only solid food......and no baby food.  He refused every try we made, including all of his favorites.  So I did what any exhausted mother who was facing a return to the 50 hour work week in addition to the full time job at home would do--I did what Jay wanted.  And he has been getting chopped up grown-up dinner ever since.  It's peas and carrots, turkey sandwich, mac and cheese, even meatballs and tortellini!  He's a huge fan of green beans.  And waffles are still a favorite.  His diapers have shown us a big change in diet (they stink to high heaven!  Good God, it's like a MAN used the diaper!) but I think his tummy is adjusting.
It's a hat!  A hat!  What did you say?  A bowl.....um, no, it's a hat.

Delicious rotini noodles and peas and carrots!

A look of satisfaction

"Ooooohhhhh!"
