Aunt Kiwi's Visit

Carrie flew in on Thanksgiving Day and was able to stay for almost a week! The older kids were just overjoyed to see her. Garrett was tickled to spend time with her and Caroline was thrilled to hang out with her favorite aunt. They were over the moon with the activities that she did with them, namely endless games of Scattergories. Carrie also fulfilled Caroline's lifelong dream to make a sock puppet. She has directions to make a sock puppet named Genevieve and has been pining away for years. I bought the supplies this summer but we never got the chance to put it all together. Carrie and Caroline spent almost 4 hours at the kitchen table working on this thing! Cammy was able to come visit for the weekend, and she picked up where Carrie left off with the older kids' activities. Cammy took them to go see Tangled and even got Garrett a haircut. Then my aunt and cousins came to visit on Saturday....it was a very busy time! But my favorite time was hanging out with Carrie on the couch while the baby slept. Carrie was a godsend--I would feed the baby, hand her off, then get a nice couple hours of sleep while Carrie bounced Emily around, keeping her quiet. Good times! Carrie the photographer....we have thousands of fantastic shots!
One of the "Christmas card" photos...but you'll have to wait for the card to see how it all comes together!

Who knew Carrie was so creative and talented?! She brought back her cross stitch skills from fourth grade and whipped up this little keepsake. Emily will treasure it.

I think this was Hour Three of sock puppets...little kids in China have nothing on us!

Emily was great at sleeping for us....just during daylight hours, though.

Carrie left us a little note before disappearing into the night for her early flight out.
