Caroline's 10th Birthday!

 I almost titled this post "Caroline:  120 Months"!  Caroline's birthday is actually today (June 5th) but we wanted to visit the American Girl store in DC so we celebrated this weekend.  Caroline invited her BFF Lauren B. for the festivities.  We sat in traffic on Saturday morning for over 2 hours due to the fact that 495 was bottle necked down to one lane for "construction" (is that what we call it when 18 guys watch 2 guys do all the work??).  Tempers were flaring (mainly mine) and some choice words may have been yelled at the stopped cars (probably me). 

 But we got there and had a beautiful lunch!  Candice the waitress earned her big tip by being the best waitress ever and she made Caroline feel very special (birthday sticker, singing happy birthday, candle in her milkshake, etc).

 CJ enjoyed herself and demanded a couple of outfits from the new summer line.

 Then we went to the neighborhood pool for the first time and headed back home to celebrate with a cookout and ice cream cake!

 Did I mention that everyone enjoyed the cake?

 Caroline was one lucky birthday girl--she got tons of presents!  Timmy and I gave her a nightgown, beading loom set (to make bracelets), a Casio keyboard and stand, and a gift certificate to the American Girl store.  Cammy brought a dress (in pic above) and ordered a bathing suit set. 

 Caroline was especially tickled by Aunt Kiwi's presents!  LOTS of beautiful new clothes and a handmade quilted pillow with her name on it!

 Did I mention that Caroline was super excited about her new pillow??

Emily had to get in on the pillow love too!
