Camp Kids

My two oldest darlings just got back from their first week at sleep away camp!  I work closely with Mrs. Misch during the school year, and she heads the 4-H extension office here in KG.  She is always pushing for me to send the kids to camp, and I was all for it last year until I found out that it was on Chris's week and he wouldn't commit to the dates.  It would be a lot of money to lose if he decided on a whim that they couldn't go on "his week".  So this year I send in the check and told him they were going, no ifs, ands, or buts!
G & C got off the bus from their 3 hour ride back from camp looking all sweaty, tired, and deliriously happy!  They were busting at the seams, talking about the camp songs, chants, swimming, games, fun counselors, activities, etc.  They were super excited that Aunt Carrie sent them awesome care packages (Caroline's bunk mates took to chanting "sharing is caring!" in an effort to get at her goodies) and Cammy sent a note and some $ for the camp store.
One of Caroline's activities was fashion and modeling, and she made the blanket you see above.  Very proud, that one!

The laundry, my God, the laundry....

Yes, I did send old tennis shoes with him.  The expensive ones were apparently the first choice in the mud.

No TV for a week almost put G into withdrawal.  The first thing he did when he got back to the house was turn on "River Monsters"!

They had "theme days"--the first day there was "Pirates and Ninjas" Day!

All in all, the kids had a great time, spent a whole week without electricity or AC, and had a blast!
