Garrett and Caroline have been visiting Cammy in Virginia Beach all week while I worked 10 hour days at a robotics camp. Instead of meeting Cammy halfway for a kid exchange to get the kids back, Timmy and I decided to drive down to Va Beach and make a weekend trip out of it. We got to see Aunt Jilp and all the cousins (Steph and crew, little Kevin, Gavin and Alexandria) for a cookout on Saturday. Emily went to the beach for the first time! We decided to treat it like a trial run for Nags Head. We prayed that she wouldn't freak out about waves or sand. And how lucky we were! Because Emily LOVED the water (couldn't get enough and kept trying to run out deeper) and had a ball in the sand making castles with Sissy and Daddy.
"I can't believe you guys were so nervous! I love this place!"
"Yup, Dad, this is the life!"
One ear infection, a stubbed toe, and Garrett was still master of the waves!
You can never have enough sand toys...
What do all redheads crave at the beach? A seat under the umbrella in the shade :)
