Jason is officially 4 weeks old today, even though we don't go to the doctor for our one month visit until next Tuesday. Tim and I put him on the scale because it feels like he is getting heavier by the day, and as of last night, Jason weighed 11 pounds and 2 oz! Two days before, he had been 10 pounds, 12 oz. So he is just piling on the pounds! This comes as no surprise to me since I feed him around the clock. He is quite the eater.
Emily is still a really good big sister to Jason. She likes to bring me his hats and mittens. She will ball up his blankets and say that she is "folding" them. She tries to help carry his car seat. Emily is really good at patting his back when I am burping him; in fact, she will stop me with a "no" and do it herself.
Jason's semi-official schedule: Get up at 7 AM (wide awake) for a diaper change and clothing change (he wears gowns at night and can't go in the car seat with them), then it's a feeding on the couch while Emily eats breakfast and watches "Arthur". Still wide awake, Jason gets loaded into the van for Emily's ride to daycare, where he is carried in by both of us and gets a kiss goodbye from Emily. It's back in the car to head home, where he usually keeps snoozing in the car seat for another hour. Up for another feeding, back to sleep (usually in the Rock 'N Play) for a good 2 hours. If I am going to run errands, I always choose this nap time. We're back to feed/sleep for the rest of the afternoon, with a nice wide awake session at 5 PM. He's usually up/dreaming/lightly dozing until 6:30 PM, when he gets a bath (2-3 times a week), a fresh gown, a swaddler, and a final feeding. Jason is conked out in his little burrito suit by 7 PM and tucked into his Rock 'N Play. He wakes up at 11:30 PM, 3 AM, and 6:30 AM like clockwork for feedings.
No official stats until our appointment next week. I was foolish enough to schedule Jason's one month at the same time as Emily's 2 year old visit, so I will be dealing with two children getting shots at the same time! Luckily, Timmy is going with me, so we should be able to handle them together.
