Pumpkin Carving 10.22.2010

This is my story, morning glory: Timmy and Caroline ran out to the Food Lion while Garrett and I were at his soccer practice last night. Timmy called me because Caroline had spotted the pumpkin display and was begging for one. I said to go ahead and let her pick one out and one for Garrett, too. When we got home from practice, we had dinner, then rolled up our sleeves for some cuttin' time. Caroline gave up on the cuttting half way through one eye, and Timmy and I picked up the slack. Garrett was determined to design and cut his by himself. Both did a great job! Gotta pull out the slimy stuff before you can cut them!

Caroline said a big "NO!" to the stencils that came with the carving set. She decided to free hand.
First attempts at actual carving. She gave a great effort...for about 15 seconds.
Garrett with his design right before carving. He spent a load of time on the "relief" parts, just to realize that when he started to cut, he took out most of it. Oh, well. They both turned out great and smell nice (for now)!
